At times, it is much easier for you to have a trainer come to your
office rather than have your staff go off-site. If this is the case
with your organization, Preferred will help. We can schedule One on
One, or Group On-Site training classes for you.
Administrator Training
Preferred Technology Solutions sees on-site, hands-on training,
actually having the designated administrator configure user profiles,
backup procedures, security rights, printer configurations, as the
most effective way to understand the network and build confidence
and comfort levels for the new administrator. Hands-on training
provides a much richer experience than a traditional classroom environment.
Administrator training typically is a two day program. The first
day addresses the logical "installation" of the network
system. Users will be defined, server directories will be created,
and operational processes will be addressed. While these activities
are being performed, the administrator gains real hands-on experience.
The trainer documents all configuration changes made for future
reference by the administrator. Once training has been completed,
the network administrator will receive both a hard copy and an electronic
version of this document so they may continue to modify it as the
foundation of their network documentation.
Given several days to allow the administrator to acclimate to their
new environment, the trainer returns to the client site to provide
a second full day to reinforce and answer questions generated by
the initial knowledge transfer. The second day also includes basic
troubleshooting and refreshing the administrator's overall knowledge
of the new platform.
This hands-on orientation leaves the network administrator confident
of their new environment and equipped to handle normal day-to-day
operational issues. Preferred Technology Solutions places special
emphasis on training and this program has provided superior network
administrators to our clients for over ten years.
End-User Training
Preferred Technology Solutions approach to End-User Training is
multi-dimensional based on client requirements and budget. Training
options are:
- Floor Coverage. This can be a supplement to
classroom training or a stand alone training and provides trainer
availability to the users on a walk-around basis. It is usually
employed directly after the classroom training and provides personal
time for users who have specific questions not addressed or want
one-on-one time.
