3Com® NBX® IP Telephony

Industry-Leading Business Communications

The 3Com® NBX® IP Telephony module delivers the intelligence, power, and flexibility for managing the most demanding communications needs of organizations in one or many locations. Thousands of businesses around the world have discovered its powerful call processing, full set of built-in applications, and continuously expanding suite of optional applications—all designed to increase productivity and maximize investment assurance.

Three NBX IP platforms are available to meet the needs of small and medium size businesses with between two and four hundred users.

  • 3Com NBX V3000 IP Telephony System. Affordable and sophisticated features for small businesses with two to 40 stations; includes four analog central office ports, one analog terminal port for a device such as a fax machine, 400 hours of auto-attendant/voice mail and call detail recording; expandable up to 1,000 users.
  • 3Com NBX 100 IP Telephony System. For stand-alone small businesses with minimal growth requirements; ships with four ports, 80 hours of auto-attendant/voice mail, and call detail recording.
  • 3Com SuperStack® 3 NBX IP Telephony System. For small-medium enterprises with less than 10 sites or 40-400 users, where redundancy options for network, power and messaging storage are desirable.

The NBX IP telephony module enables the following enterprise advantages:

Lower cost

  • Affordably improved communications with powerful built-in call-processing features, including voice mail, automated attendant, hunt/call groups, call detail reporting, computer telephony integration (CTI), PC-based visual voicemail/e-mail clients (IMAP4), and with optional software, delivery of versatile unified messaging capabilities
  • Eliminated cost and administrative overhead required for separate voice and data networks
  • Simplified day-to-day operation with web-based administration and user programming
  • Compatibility with other 3Com networked telephony solutions, easing growth to larger systems and preserving telephony investments

Increased user productivity

  • High system availability with the Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system (also used in pacemakers and artificial hearts), so server and PC downtime does not impact telephone service
  • Resilient 10/100 Mbps Ethernet uplink ports with failover, optional redundant power supplies, and disk mirroring with the SuperStack 3 NBX system for businesses that cannot afford downtime
  • Support for teleworkers

Strengthened customer interactions

  1. A wide range of business-quality, high-fidelity worktop options that include business phones and attendant console with practical and versatile capabilities such as easy access to a company's internal user directory, speed dials, and even personal call logs
  2. Easy integration with numerous off-the-shelf, productivity-enhancing software, including customer relationship management (CRM) and call center applications; 3Com Voice Solution Providers Program (VSPP) adds advanced capabilities for 3Com IP telephony system users
  3. Compatibility with the optional 3Com eXchange Call Center application and modules of the 3Com IP Telephony Applications Suite.
